2022 Porsche Macan vs. 2021 Porsche Macan

2022 Porsche Macan vs. 2021 Porsche Macan

Overview

Porsche always enhances its vehicle line-up in daring but thoughtful ways. Going from the 2021 to 2022 model year, the luxury compact SUV gets some performance and styling improvements. Let's compare the 2022 Macan to the 2021 Macan.

Exterior

To give the Macan a more aggressive appearance, the front and rear bumpers have been redesigned. In addition, seven additional wheel types in widths ranging from 19 to 21 inches are available. Lastly, LED headlights and taillights are now standard across the line-up, giving the vehicle a more attractive, elegant appearance during the day and greater visibility at night.

Performance

All 2022 models come equipped with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, all-wheel drive, and upgraded powertrains. The Macan line-up starts with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that now produces 261 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, up 13 horsepower and 22 pound-feet from the 2021 model. When equipped with the optional Sport Chrono Package, the SUV accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 5.8 seconds (0.3 seconds faster than before) and has a peak track speed of 144 mph.

Safety Features

The Macan is handsomely equipped with front, curtain, and side airbags, the latter for front and rear passengers. It also comes with traction and stability control, powerful brakes with anti-lock braking, a rear-view camera, and front and rear parking sensors. One notable difference is that, for 2022, Porsche includes lane departure warning on all trim levels.

The Macan gets at least a small interior re-design as well, with each model year. Throw in the improved performance, exterior features, and safety equipment, and the 2022 model stands out as the best Macan yet.
