2022 Porsche Taycan vs. 2021 Porsche Taycan

2022 Porsche Taycan vs. 2021 Porsche Taycan

Overview

The Porsche Taycan has practically everything you might desire in a high-performance electric car. Let's take a quick look at what modifications have been made for the 2022 model year and whether the 2022 or 2021 Porsche Taycan is right for you.

Exterior

The 2021 Porsche Taycan has a traditional modern Porsche lighting signature, with LED headlights, but with unique "fangs" that curl around the front bumper, forming an aerodynamic front end. For 2022, all Porsche models get access to the Manufaktur color series, adding 65 additional color options.

Battery

The 2021 Porsche Taycan is equipped with a 79-kWh lithium-ion battery that produces 321 horsepower. A 93-kWh battery pack is available as an option with an incredible 616 horsepower. The 2022 Taycan is the same, but adjustments to the heating process allow the Taycan to charge faster than the 2021 model, including only 1.5 hours from near-empty to fully charged at 440 volts.

Interior Features

The inside of the Porsche Taycan is on the futuristic side of luxury. Most aspects of the cabin may be customized, with options such as soft leather covers or wood, aluminum, or carbon fiber trim pieces. For 2022 specifically, Android Auto is offered in the Taycan standard for the first time. The optional Remote Park Assist feature, which allows you to remotely pull the Taycan into or out of a parking slot using your smartphone, is also newly available on 2022 editions.

Any recent Porsche Taycan is sure to satisfy luxury-minded electric car fans. That being said, the 2022 Taycan has an edge due to more standard convenience features, better charging, and dozens of new colors.
