Why You Should Rotate Your Tires

Your tires take a lot of pressure when you drive. However, when you schedule a tire rotation, you are helping to take an important step of alleviating the pressure and prolonging the life of your tires' treads. When you drive your car, pressure is placed on the tires that are doing a majority of the work. For example, a front-wheel-drive car will have a majority of the pressure placed on the front wheels. The increased pressure will cause your tires to wear down faster than the other tires. A tire rotation can help decrease the pressure and give your tires a break, while also saving you money down the road.

How Often You Should Rotate Your Tires

Generally, you should rotate your tires every time you get your oil changed, or around every 5,000 to 7,500 miles. We recommend speaking with our team of technicians to get an accurate service schedule. Please contact us to learn more.

Tire Rotation Patterns

When you bring your car in for a tire rotation, our technicians will typically take one of the following approaches:

  • X-Pattern: When our technicians choose the X-pattern approach, they will move your tires diagonally. For example, your front left tire will be rotated to the back right of your car.
  • Rearward Cross: Our technicians may also choose the rearward cross technique. This technique involves rotating your rear tires to the front of your car. The tires that were previously in the front will be rotated diagonally to the back of your car.
  • Forward Cross: The last technique our technicians will typically do is the forward cross. Your Porsche, especially when it's front-wheel-drive, will do well with this. Your tires that were previously in the front of your car will be rotated to the back of your car, while the rear tires will be rotated diagonally to the front.
